Gebäudelehre
A building meant to still work in a hundred years. The scheme I would redraw, and the drawings I would keep.
The brief asked for a building flexible enough to follow its users, now or in a century. Two room types carry that. A series of rooms for individual activity, and a grand hall for everything that needs the volume. The structure is a set of load-bearing wall slabs set normal to the hall, after Grafton Architects' UTEC extension in Lima.
I am not sold on the result. The scheme reads more diagram than building, and I would take the plan apart if I drew it again. What I did take from it was the drawing. This was the semester where the plans and the views started coming out the way I saw them in my head, and that has carried into everything since.
